Frequently asked questions

Construction analytics and reporting FAQs

Answers for project managers, site teams and reporting stakeholders.

What is construction reporting software?

Construction reporting software organizes project and operational records into dashboards, reports and analytics. DreamzCMMS helps teams review project costs, recorded hours, work status and equipment performance, with reporting views suited to construction management.

Which project reports are available?

The documented project reports include All Projects, Project with Total Cost and Project with Total Hours. They provide project details, expenditure or recorded time. The exact reports available to your team depend on the modules and access enabled in your account.

Can I filter analytics by project and location?

Yes. The construction Project Analytics view includes project selection and location filters. Other reports provide their own filters, including date range, status or assigned user. Select the relevant scope before comparing figures.

Can I compare approved budgets and actual project costs?

Yes. Project reports show approved budgets and recorded costs. Check that cost entries are complete and compare the same project scope. A positive difference between the full budget and spending to date is not automatically savings or final profit.

Can I see hours recorded against each project?

Yes. Project with Total Hours summarizes time recorded against projects. Use that information with work scope, dates and completion records. Recorded hours alone do not establish productivity or whether a person or team has performed well.

Can I review work-order completion and overdue work?

Yes. Work-order analytics includes status, completion, assigned-user and aging views. Filters help focus on the relevant work. Overdue orders are a subset of open or incomplete work, not a separate category to add to the total.

Can reporting include equipment maintenance and spare parts?

Yes. With the relevant modules and records in place, DreamzCMMS reporting covers equipment reliability, maintenance, purchasing and inventory. Select consistent sites, dates and categories when using these views together for a construction review.

Does DreamzCMMS support Power BI and custom dashboards?

Yes. The construction offering includes Power BI visualizations, and the wider reporting platform supports configurable dashboards. Available metrics, permissions, data connections and refresh settings are agreed for your reporting setup.

Can I export reports or send them on a schedule?

Project reports have a documented Excel export option. The wider reporting platform also offers scheduled delivery and other export formats. Confirm the supported report, format, recipients and schedule for your account before configuring distribution.

How current are the numbers in a dashboard?

Reports reflect records available to the selected view at its reporting cutoff or last refresh. Offline field entries must synchronize first, and connected analytics follow their refresh configuration. Compare matching periods and check for missing entries before drawing conclusions.

How does VEDA help with analytics and reporting?

VEDA can help summarize available operational information, explain recorded maintenance or cost trends and prepare follow-up work. Responses depend on accessible data and enabled workflows. Your team reviews the supporting records and approves any action.

What should we prepare for a construction reporting demo?

Bring the project reports you use today, your main reporting questions, key metric definitions and the roles that need access. Identify the source systems and reporting frequency so the demo can focus on the views and connections your team needs.
