To accommodate regulative necessities and manage maintenance activities effectively, the company decided to implement an efficient maintenance management system.

Challenges

The company deals with recycling wastewater. With the significant increase in demand for pure water, it is necessary to keep all the equipment in the best possible operating condition so that it does not hinder wastewater processing. In the past, the company used a paper-based maintenance system. Data were entered manually, technicians were assigned work orders via phone calls, and no real-time updates could be seen on the maintenance jobs. A combination of manual errors and missing paperwork makes it impossible to perform scheduled maintenance activities. In the end, this led to sudden equipment failures, downtimes, and costly reactive maintenance. Lack of maintenance also led to equipment malfunctioning, which made it impossible to maintain regulatory compliance. 

Maintenance management activities are scheduled for each equipment based on their meter readings or based on time intervals using DreamzCMMS. Whenever meter readings for equipment surpass a threshold or a period of time exceeds, DreamzCMMS generates work order automatically. Workflow automation enables automatic assignment of the work order to specific technicians. And the technicians can find the notification through their DreamzCMMS mobile apps

Technicians have to visit the equipment and scan the QR Code to extract all the details, including maintenance related data, to complete the job. Stakeholders can access updates regarding the status of each job in real-time. Since the manager has all the data at his fingertips, he can create work orders as necessary to ensure regulatory compliance and to avoid over or under maintenance. Successful implementation of DreamzCMMS results reduced number of failure and lower reactive maintenance as well by using scheduled maintenance.
